STEEMIT ACCOUNT PROTECTION TIPS

Never never never do this on Steemit ...i repeat Never !
I am sure you came to read this post out of curiosity and am going to tell you the reason I wrote it below.I am happy that you have found this post of mine and it will may be help you!

Let me give you a reminder before i go into the specifics of this post.
We all know or if you didn't know,the rules of Steemit with regards to passwords! If you have forgotten,i will quote the rules below for you.

■NEVER, I repeat, NEVER use or give your owner key or password to a third party website!

■Use your posting key to login, post and vote on steemit.com

■NEVER give your active key as this key allows control to your funds! Only use your active key for special operation like money transfer or account update.
I will write a detailed post on what and how to use these keys.

If you have been active on Steemit in the last month,there have been many cases of account theft going on,if you didn't know now i am telling you!!!

I can guess this is because Steemit is growing at an alarming rate and many scammers have joined the platform to take advantage of the naive individuals who are new to crypto(private,posting,master key stuff).

We all know Steemit is the future of social media and hence all of us who are here must guard our accounts jealously.If you are someone who thinks long term like i do,i envision my account to be worth roughly 500k $ in the next 10 years!
You might now say i am being over optimistic,but that's the truth folks,Steem is going to the moon in the next 3 years.

Never Never Do This on Steemit.

I am sure you have been waiting for this part of the article and here we are finally.
As I said in my previous paragraphs,there have been many cases of Steemit account thefts and i am going to tell you one of the common or prevalent method being used of late.

If you been very vigilant,you must have realised that 1 out of every 4 posts you make,there is an auto-comment directing you to do something.The comments are always offering an offer for upvotes or resteem!
I warn you be careful with those comments.

So this is how it works

When you click on that comment,you will be redirected to a page that has your upvote or resteem offer and guess what.....they will take you to a page that resembles steemconnect! It's at this time that they ask you for your username and master password!

It so happens that immediately you enter this two...boom your account is hijacked and you have been hacked.Your wallet is emptied immediately and sometimes your password also changed !!! If your password is not changed,they will make your account to send the similar auto-comments that you clicked on!

There are even some new scam comments that make you delegate all your Steem Power to the scammer.

Never never never click on those comments with insane promises on your or any other person's blog or post.

Scammer reported:@steemtag(takes all your Steem Power!)

Phishing Site reported:Free upvotes for 30 days!

There are really many phishing websites @arcange has listed and just check any of those posts above and see the related scams at the end of those posts ...keep following him and vote him for witness for great work he is doing.

I wrote this post because a friend of mine is a victim of this phishing websites.He accidentally I guess clicked on one of the comments and his account was hijacked! They didn't only hijack his account,the scammers also used his account to send similar messages automatically to many other people's posts on Steemit.

It so happens that his account is now being downvoted by @steemcleaners and @blacklist and guess what,his repuation is at 5 at I wrote this!

If you have been hacked or know someone ,tell them to follow this post below to see how they can recover their account. I was so happy when I saw this post below and I sent it to my friend so that he can follow to recover his account.
