Utkal Express from Haridwar to Puri derails at Khatauli, Muzzafarnagar in Uttar Pradesh (INDIA)

Today I am very sad and sorry to say that their was a train accident nearly 100 meters far away from my house. The accident occurred around 5.45pm near Khatauli town in Muzaffarnagar and left 23 people dead and over 60 injured as 14 of the 23 coaches of the Puri-Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express derailed. The derailment was apparently due to application of emergency breaks immediately after the train left the Khatauli station.

Heavyweight cranes and gas cutters were being used to lift or cut the mangled remains of the coaches and extricate passengers stuck inside. Large number of local people and villagers were also seen helping out those engaged in the rescue work.

Most of the peoples lost their lives and their was injured peoples and some dead bodies. I feel very disappointed today after seeing the accident. It was totally paining me.
