Daily Brief 7.27.2017 Gorillas in Rwanda

KIGALI, Rwanda. The Rwandan Government through the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has approved plans to increase the fees to view the endangered mountain Gorillas to $1500 per person. The head of the RDB, Miss Clare Akamanzi argues that the strategy is to develop a high end tourism market because Rwanda's tourism is based on natural resources. By making it exclusive the Rwandan government is conserving the delicate ecosystem. This strategy is known as "High Value Low Impact Strategy " which has worked well in other countries. This region that borders Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo is the only place in the world where one can see Gorillas in their natural habitat. Thanks to conservation efforts the population has slowly increased but there are still fewer than a thousand gorillas left. So what do you think?
