RT could be "taken off air" in the UK as "retaliation" for Russian spy poisoning
The poisoning of the former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia could be used by the UK government as a pretext for censoring a Russian broadcasting network.
The BBC has reported that UK Prime Minister Teresa May is "braced" to take "extensive measures" against Russia if it does not provide a credible explanation for the poisoning, and that taking Russian broadcasters such as RT off air in the UK is one of the possible options available as "retaliation".

How might this be done? Through Ofcom, the publicly-funded communications regulation body.
Other options include sanctions and expulsion of diplomats.
May has issued an ultimatum to the Putin administration, giving it until midnight tonight to explain how the poisoning happened. It seems to me that a lot of assumptions are being made.
A free country?
And it appears that this atrocious incident, which is still unproven, could be used against the British people, to further restrict our freedom of choice in a supposedly "free country".
I am no fan of RT. I stopped watching it regularly a couple of years ago, as I felt it was dishing out too much propaganda – though I occasionally tune in.

I believe that the BBC also serves up a lot of propaganda, as do many newspapers. The important point is, I want the freedom to choose what I watch or read; what kind of propaganda I pay attention to.

If RT is censored, I'm not coming back. That would be the end of the idea of the West.
They are definitely looking at ways to do this. Keep an eye on Ofcom.
