It is rightful for leaders to do anything necessary to protect his people. I think Putin is just being a good leader. It is their defensive stance to protect their own country. You can prevent a bully from targeting you, when the bully realizes he cannot just mess with you that easy.

"There is no need to create more threats to the world," he concluded. "Instead, let us sit down at the negotiating table and devise together a new and relevant system of international security and sustainable development for human civilisation. We have been saying this all along."
