Russia is Logical

Well i can safely say that Russia is actually quite a logical place to be. They have Information Guides on a segways giving out information,

The buses all run on Electrical cabling which helps to reduce the amount of air pollution done by cars, but that being said there is a hell of a lot of cars. I think russia has to be the most densely populated country that i have been to. However the people here are always friendly and helpful, even if you get a few strange looks from some people they all help even if they are busy on the phone.

The streets here though are insanely long, just one street can go on for 10KM or more. Intersections ofcourse, but just keeps going straight through most likely to the other end of St Petersburg. This i guess makes it easier to navigate without having to take too many turns to get to where you want to go, but i still think it could do with something easier to navigate.

Which brings me to the Metro, now the metro is a very useful feature of the city which allows you to be able to travel almost anywhere in the city for a low price. Now with Russia they don't charge based off of distance, they charge based on the amount of times you travel. for 1 token, which allows 1 trip, doesn't matter where to, just 1 single trip, this was 45 Rubles, which is about 30P or about 45 cents.

Now you can also buy a Metro card which has a certain amount of times you can travel attached to it. I have personally bought one for the trip and i have used it about 6 - 8 times in 2 days, so it's definitely worth it, if you are travelling around the city a lot. The best part about the city though, i think which benefits not only walkers but drivers also, is that the traffic lights are not controlled by buttons, but purely by timers.

The lights all have a certain time frame which they are a certain colour, and most contain a countdown above the lights to show when they are going to change, which is the same for the people crossing the street, as the drivers driving down the street. This i believe would be able to help a lot of other countries if they adopted the same thing as it just seems common sense to me. It works really well, especially in densely populated cities where there always going to be a lot of drivers and a lot of people walking.

Anyway i'll provide another update on my trips to russia soon, maybe tomorrow depends when i have the time, so i'll leave you all to read over my other works for now.. and i hope you all have a great week
