Who does not know the Gore-Tex?

I think Gore-Tex is now universally known as an impermeable and at the same time breathable fabric, but in this short post I would like to focus on the performance of this material in the running field.

The Gore-Tex is a product patented and registered by the American company Gore, and is, simply speaking, in a plastic material fabric, which is micro-drilled electronically from the inside to the outside, in order to tell from a distance pass all 'outside the small molecules of sweat, while the larger molecules of water can not penetrate inside, although on the one hand it is a breathable effect (that of the sweat to the outside) has a waterproofing effect (the impossibility of crossing the fabric).

It would seem a perfect aspect for the runner, able to guarantee excellent performance in the case of harsh and rainy climates, but in this specific case there are some specific requirements.

First of all, the Gore-Tex is definitely a breathable fabric, but it is by no means the most breathable ever, because for its particular characteristic of building a sweat machine outwards, but in a smaller quantity compared to other materials, which they have a much more open construction, but we do not talk about, like the Gore-Tex, the impermeability.

The runner can effectively bear a garment in Gore-Tex, like the one I photographed, when he is completely developing from the water, because this is why the head is not completely protected, a difference from the water that is almost total.

In the case of normal rain it is advisable to consider the most breathable instruments, but which offer lower waterproof performance.
