Fifty runs till May #35 ... Langlaufen in the Rain

in #running7 years ago

I have a few hours of overtime left outstanding, which I decided to take a few off today to go langlaufen. For those of you who see my post about langlaufen for the first time, have a look at this post where I go more into detail about what it is and what I do.

  • Weather: 4 degrees and raining
  • Distance: 7,2 kilometer
  • Time: 54,5 minutes
  • Pace: 8,0 kph
  • Training Effect: 2,6 = Maintaining

It is raining today and the weather is quite warm again, so conditions are not ideal. On the other hand, the snow is more smooth and this makes it easier to do langlaufen. I felt I was going faster than what my Garmin is saying, but I'll always go by that. I didn't take any pictures as it was gray and cloudy, so the ones I am using today are ones I took previously and haven't used in a post before.

Originally I wanted to try a new route (#4 on the diagram below) today, but under the circumstances I decided against it and decided to try it when the conditions are better. You can see I did a part of #4, but I went back the way I came and did my normal round, #1.

In the end I did 7,2 km in 54,5 minutes. That puts me now at run #35/50 done or 70%

Let's keep going!

Doron

Damn, you must have nerves of steel! Way to go :)

Why? It's not that hard. Most of it is flat, only breaking is still an issue for me.

I suppose it would be the weather that would get to me :P

LOL, this I can imagine, but it's not that bad, the weather is just an excuse.

Amazing Doron, as usual...
By the way, which shoes you use when running on this pavement?
Keep on running!

Pavement? Well, when I run on pavement I use asics, for harder surfaces the kayano and in the woods the GT2000

woow

Wow great run!
While others like me started to put on some weight you are still in the game :D Respect!

Thanks bud!

It is paradise . It recalled me the poem dust of snow of great poet Robert Frost...

The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree

Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued

WOW, thanks for that! Makes me enjoy snow even a bit more.

Keep up the good work 70% done means more than half way home. Keep going you have some followers here enjoying yout posts.

Thanks a lot, it's a great challenge to participate in but I never expected to be this far in come end of December. There is still plenty of time to achieve it.
