The Wellington Marathon video

in #running6 years ago

YouTube didn’t seem to like my video of the marathon yesterday, rejecting it out of hand last night. I’m not sure why.

This morning it seemed happy to accept it though, so here it is, in all its soggy glory.

It was pretty unfriendly conditions out there on the course, but in the video it looks like it was just a little windy. That’s because I only videoed when the wind and rain wasn’t too bad, otherwise you’d not be able to see anything.

I hope you enjoy it from the warm and dry comfort of your computer / phone / tablet / whatever. And just be glad you weren’t out in it ;-)

As you said, there is nothing impossible, just HARD! You are great man!

Thanks for that.

This was hard, but only because of the weather. if you look at it with good humor and just accept the weather, then it wasn't too bad. At least I had good gear, so for most of the race I was pretty much warm and dry.

But there were plenty of people just running in t-shirts and stuff. They must have been frozen!

As you said, there is

Congratulations for finishing your second marathon, despite adverse climate conditions!

Thank you very much for sharing your video: what action cam did you use for filming?

The relive at the end perfectly show the beauty of the marathon track: will you run it again next year?

A persistent hug from @amico! ;)

*When someone tells you that what you want to do is impossible, change the word in your head to hard. What you want to do is hard. Hard is doable – it just requires dedicated work and effort and you can make it happen.

Hey @trevor.george great video but don't think it completely captures the brutality of the day. That really wasn't fun. Completely forgot you are based in Wellington and regret not reaching out to you before the race. Either way I am sure everyone had a great story to tell after the event.
Regards @run.vince.run

Thanks for that. It was a hard day, but a good day. (but I'm glad it's over hehe)

And today - bright sunshine and no wind with mild temperatures. You gotta love Wellington's sense of humour.

2 more weeks to go, then you can do even worse, for longer.
I will have words with she who can control the weather and see if you can have a better day.
I bet the beer and ice cream when down well.
