Scorcher in Moscow!

in #running6 years ago (edited)

From hot weather in Scotland to even hotter weather in Russia! It was an absolute scorcher in Moscow, but I certainly didn’t miss the pollution! It was my first run since arriving back, but I'm still finding it tough to do any running of substance. The air feels very thick, the sun is belting down, pollution from car exhausts and bumpy roads are making it extremely difficult. It's also very hard to find somewhere long or green enough to run; there is nothing more tiring than running around in short circles - especially when you want to get some heavy mileage in.

The above photo actually looks decent for running, but it goes downhill for half a mile before looping back up. It's also extremely bumpy in parts and plenty cars drive by the side. I don't know if emission laws are different back home, but some of the cars give off terrible smells.

I've added details from my 4 mile run below:

Are there no parks locally @seanreilly? it's still baking hot here too. 😊

A couple of massive parks are 1-2 miles away, but they're not convenient for running to because of lights and traffic. The lights here take forever with most roads being 10 lanes or something. I'm thinking of waking up early in the mornings to catch the underground there while it's not so busy. I don't want to be that guy on public transport covered in sweat after running!

😂 😂 😂

That's dedication though @seanreilly. Having to catch the underground to somewhere so you can run.
