#32 Quick training

in #running6 years ago

On Thursday evening I usually take my younger son on piano lesson and stay in music school reading something until he finishes, but yesterday evening I went to run. It was cold, but not usual cold. The air felt like it was sharp and striking, even if it was above 0 Celsius.
I also had a lot of keys in my hand, so I truly regret that I didn't take gloves.

Yesterday's run was quick but productive:
First I had to worm-up a bit ( 7 minutes), and then I had 10 switching between high and low tempo running , every 30 seconds.

It was easy to switch every 30 seconds. I felt I had energy and strength in my legs, but still the breathing problem was there for a moment. I realise what is the cause of that. The cold air! That is what makes the difficulties.
I bread on mouth both ways, and I think that cold air somehow blocks me not to inhale fully. Yesterday actually I had impression that I did bread slower, probably unconsciously in order to avoid unpleasant feeling of aching coldness in my throat.

Here is the tempo during speed switching:

Not bad! I feel that I can more, this is not my maximum, I know that.
I can't wait the race day! Until then, I'll have about 5 more trainings.
