Bunny Hash outstation in Pattaya: Much better attendance than anticipated

Whenever we do an outstation - which is just a word we use for events that we host outside of our hometown of Chiang Mai, we always worry that there isn't going to be enough people that attend. A great deal of planning goes into these things so it is extra disappointing when they fall flat. Thankfully, not only did we get enough people at this one but we had a lot more than we anticipated and it was a tremendous success.

The "Bunny" events are more likely to fail than regular events because at least in theory, they are only supposed to be attended by female members of the Hash. Exceptions are made at times and men are allowed, but only if they dress up in ridiculous clothes.

Skirts, bunny ears and sometimes makeup are just a few of the silly requirements for men to attend but if you are concerned about looking really silly, don't worry because every other man will look the same way.

They were kind to us on the trail and didn't require us to wear this gear while running, thankfully.

The Bunny Hash is administered and controlled entirely by the women members of the Chiang Mai Hash House Harriers so the men do not get any say in how these events are run. You MUST comply and I don't think that anyone really has any problem with it seeing as how we are a silly bunch just in a general sense.

The best thing about this event was that originally, we had difficulty in even getting 10 people committed to attend but in the end we had members from Bangkok, Phuket, and Pattaya attend as well and we had nearly 40 people take part in the multi-day event. These are always a lot of fun and you get to meet people that live in completely different cities. Since most Hashers are like-minded people, this is a great way to meet other people that you are most likely going to end up being friends with.

I love outstations and in the past couple of years because of Covid we haven't been able to do them as much as we would like. Thankfully, the restrictions have almost completely gone away and now we can return to doing these special runs on a more regular basis. It was fun being in Pattaya although it is a bit hot there for my liking.
