Yesterday’s Race

Yesterday was HOT... and humid. Very humid. Nevertheless, my husband and I set out to run a 5k and a 10k race (I ran the 5k). The 5k goes down a hill (mostly) for the first half and then... right back up it! The 10k continues on flat before the turnaround to run back up all the hills. The last mile killed my time (7:50, 8:30, 9:45min/mi), but I still got third in my age group. I was surprised as my overall time wasn’t terribly impressive at 27:31 (far from my best time).
I wish I had gotten a picture of just how WET we were when we finished. They gave out cold, wet towels which I was happy to put on top of my head and wipe down my face and neck making me even wetter than I was before.
