Floating Dutchman: Cape Rum

I am not really a RUM drinker, although I did drink some RUM when on holiday in Mauritius last year - when in Rome do as the Romans do!!

When a friend of my mother however offered me a bottle of craft rum, that is made by her son, I accepted it gladly.

The rum is a Cape Rum, named Floating Dutchmen. The rum is a pot distilled Molasses Rum. It comes in a 750 ml bottle with 43% alcohol - quite potent!! As you can see on the label, this rum did win some medals!!

I love the label design!!

Below you can see the rum on ice - I however mix it with Coke, which is how a lot of people drink rum here in South Africa.

Although it tasted quite strong, I still loved the taste, and would actually buy it, if I would ever see it in a shop.
