Boy, cultists and long-legged evil - "The Babysitter" by McG

in #ru7 years ago (edited)

I admit, I'm a big fan of Netflix films. First of all, because they serve as an excellent example of how, having a modest budget by the Hollywood standards, you can put original films that leave due to an unusual story, acting or big names at the helm. Today's film The Babysitter is from last category and is delivered by the famous director and phenomenally productive television producer - McG.

Despite the fact that Cole (Judah Lewis) is 12 years, his parents do not dare leave him unattended and, leaving for the weekend, leave the boy with a nanny. It's hard not to agree with the fact that the nanny Bee (Samara Weaving) is what you need. Long-legged, slender, glamorous young lady who is easy to find a common language with Cole, eats with him a pizza while watching classic movies, witty jokes at ease arguing about who of super-heroes steeper and generally, not a girl - a dream. But that's really the ideal and the girls are no flaw Bee that she - leader of a satanic cult, and Cole is not only one botanist, but also the victim for the next ceremony.

In order to adequately assess this comic horror film is worth knowing a few things. First, the creative path of McGee, as a director, began with the music videos for the punks The Offspring. Secondly, McGee is the same person who made Lucy Lew, Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore beautifully wave their legs under The Prodigy and blow everything up in two parts of Charlie's Angels. And the third - this comrade has been producing the Adventures of the Winchester Brothers in the TV series Supernatural for almost a decade now.

I do not even know whether to add to his merit the pathetic "Terminator Salvation", since it is not possible to shoot seriously this almost 50-year-old punk, but the comedic comedies come out as no one else has and "Nanny" this is one of the most hilarious statements on the theme of the popular in the 80th movie slasher.

The script of the film because of the abundance of bloody scenes and specific humor for a long time stayed on the "black list", but the bosses of Netflix, respecting the audacious content, like "American Vandal" is not embarrassed and after listening to all the arguments McGzhi gave him the green light and did not lose. The company frost-bitten student cultists chasing a boy who clearly follows the footsteps of the legendary Kevin McAllister looks as ridiculous and ridiculous as possible. The logic of the characters, like the genre, cracks at the seams, the cliche sits one on the other and the third is driven, but at the same time, thanks to interesting perspectives, excellent editing and findings like the stylized display of the main character's thoughts, it looks damn stylish.

In addition, Samara Weaving, by the way the niece of the King of Elves, Agent Smith Hugo Weaving looks great in the frame and once again proves that Australia is not only the birthplace of kangaroos, but also not reducing the quality bar of Hollywood beauties. Whether the climate they have, whether the craze for surfing or the features of the kitchen, but most of the new actresses from this continent are rare beauties. Sexy, courageous and cunning.

From the hands of this and die like it's not a pity.

Subjective rating 8 of 10
