Maxwell hears Cy's request and opens the gate wide.
He then takes a defensive position on the west side of the gateway, inside the wall, ready with his hammer and waiting to flatten the first thing that comes through the door.
update: Maxwell does another 5 damage to the warrior.
Maxwell follows Cy's assault, and charges the same warrior swinging down his hammer hard, and then he returns to his previous position just inside the gate.
