Genetically Engineered Blue Roses
Nature does not provide by default blue petal roses. In 2004 scientists altered the white roses by genetical engineering processes to achieve a blue color. A blue rose symbolizes love, prosperity or immortality or is associate with the royal blood, in some cultures.
The roses that are found in flower shops are actually white roses dyed blue. Blue for the petals can be achieved in several ways including absorption, dip-dying or spraying.
