Rock and minerals macro video: A Stone with quartz cavities on it.

I bring you another sample today, where if you look closely you will find that there are crystal cavities in the rock. I cant tell how deep they go, maybe if i stuck a q-tip in there I could feel around and figure out how deep it is. Curious if these vanes go all the way through the rock. I guess the only way to really know is to split the rock open to see what you have. But it has three or four sides of inward facing crystals that are going through this big piece of stone.

It has some great formations on it, looks like teeth inside. Like how there are crystals facing eachother making them look like a grin. Looking like a mouth that is grinning or bearing its teeth at someone, its really cool. So this is a pretty large piece and only if you look close you will find those cavities. Otherwise on a shelf it just looks like a big piece of rock. But up close is when you find these cool things. Like the crystals or finding different mineral deposits in them.

When you clean them you find more things. When you find these out in the dirt and the mud you dont think much of it at the time. I may have seen one at the of spotting, and then found more once cleaned. So its always really exciting going rockhounding.
