RE: The Daily Better - 26 October 2016

in #robots8 years ago (edited)

There are some massive minnow-bot trains floating about. How do we justify higher minnow votes on post = should be voted? Is there a smart way to figure this out? An interesting simple heuristic, and worth looking more into. Thanks for doing this!

Sort:

It's easy to justify them, 99% of them , reputation <=25, post_count = 0.
And we will check the votes on every posts we voted everyday, will mark minnow-bots that has reputation > 25 manually.

Ah that's a good balance :) , but probably more difficult to scale if Better's train is hitting significant amounts.. by then the minnow bot trains will be abused to bypass @better's requirement, and end up potentially autovoting with significant amounts of payout to spam. I like the idea because it doesn't cost much, just need to becareful I guess.

And newly registered accounts were excluded, the accounts that have ever changed ownership before and the reputation is less than 50 were excluded too.
Anyway , It's possible to abuse or bypass the bot, for example, some members united together to vote for each other manually, but this experiment is worth a try.
