The Road to Steem Fest | Why do I want to go to Steem Fest?
It's been absolutely ageeeeeees since I've been to Bangkok, so why not go to Steem Fest? That's the short answer.
The other part of the topic on the latest #roadtosteemfest contest organised by #blocktradescontest is "Help me fund my trip!" so my short answer alone won't suffice if I need you guys to help fund my trip 🤑.
Seriously, I think it's all about timing. I don't mean the time of the year, but the timing in my Steemit journey. I'm entering my third year now and am already starting to feel old. My Steemit ID is 209970 and there are over 200k people who joined before me, that's a lot. But then if you look at where we are now, we're up to 1.3m accounts, so in that respect, I'm actually pretty old in Steemit age. I feel as I know this community pretty well but hardly know anyone. What happens if I get fed up and decide to pack it in next year? Then all this would have been a virtual dream for me, two years of my life that I have little to grasp onto.
Going to Steem Fest is all about being able to put a real person to a name. I'm looking forward to the mini meetups with all the communities I'm involved in, @Steemitworldmap, @TravelFeed, @OCD, @LadiesofAsia ..... and all the other people I have crossed path with. I don't think this will happen anywhere else apart from SteemFest.
After SteemFest is finished, and hopefully I will come out alive (as oppossed to totally exhausted 😉) I will start my holiday in Thailand. Not sure where yet, I haven't planned that far ahead. Memories of my last Bangkok holiday was mainly of the massive chatuchak market. I absolutely love markets. I was there for literally the whole day and think I still hadn't covered the entire market. It would be interesting to revisit and see if and how it's changed, or not. Having joined Steemit, and being involved on the Steemitworldmap means there is a whole host of information to help me plan my holiday. I've seen a lot of great posts from other Steemians about things to do in Bangkok and the rest of Thailand. I'm pretty sure post SteemFest will be an eventful holiday for me.
Last time, I mentioned I've booked my accommodation. Today, I've just book my flight to BKK. SteemFest is becoming real now. I need to buy my SteemFest ticket later this week before the price goes up. Once that's done, there's no turning back.
Check out all my travel posts here on Steemit Worldmap, and also my latest project @LadiesOfAsia where we share fun and cultural diversity across Asia Pacific.
So I'll see you there then
We meet again
It will be fun....:)
That would be awesome !!!!
