I get that you are talking about "The centralization of power" on steemit. I was confused by all this talk about decentrialzation because it did seem contradictory, until what I learned it was in reference to, the network not the power structure.

A distributed ledger network spreads computational workload across multiple nodes in a network. A decentralized ledger network allows nodes to make independent processing and computational decisions irrespective of what other peer nodes may decide."

All validating nodes in the network run the same (agreed-upon) consensus algorithm against the same transactions, and thus validate (or invalidate) each transaction. But I agree that good things may be possible with more open communication from the roadmap.
