Some key points:

• Greg Kidd, an early investor in Coinbase and Twitter, just invested $US57.5 million ($AU70.9 million) toward Uphold, a currency exchange that also trades in cryptocurrencies, this will be a catalyst to compete with coinbase as a major exchange.
  -Uphold will use part of the money as insurance for its users to guarantee that their deposits to the exchange are protected in the event of a hacking incident. An recent large slake Hack was one that took place a few days ago with a Japanese Exchange. The hackers took mainly the crypto NEM.
• Uphold will also use the funds to add integrations with Ripple and begin trading in its cryptocurrency XRP, which is up almost 4000% since it started trading in April.In my opinion this will be a catalyst for more stakeholders and exchanges to follow suit to compete. This is an excellent result for XRP as large investors are seeing the benefit in solving cross border transactions.
