What will these Ripple holders buy when it blows up?

Ripple has skyrocketed. What happens when it crashes?

When a coin crashes the traders usually buy

1) bitcoin 2) something like tether 3) nothing (they just deleverage) 4) an altcoin that has been performing  well and is below its high.

1) bitcoin is the easiest.

Just sell on many exchanges and you often end up with bitcoin.

2) tether

people are becoming more comfortable with cryptocurrnecies but if there is fears about the whole space tether can hedge that risk. On the other hand some people worry tether is a very centralized solution with credit risk.

 3) deleverage

only some curremcies  trading allow leveraged trades. I think this is more prevalent with bitcoin but ripple may have a decent amount of leveraged traders as we.

4) altcoins

this must be easy and attactive.

Easy means it's traded on the same exchange as the collapsing altcoin and/or can be traded directly from one to the other.

Historically this meant bitcoin but there are more and more eth pairs. There are also starting to be ripple pairs.

Attractive means the coin is performing well, is not at all time highs, has some some nice  catalysts and has a good long term story

Dash is well positioned to benefit from ripples fall

1) Dash is mostly traded on same exchanges. 2) Dash is building a ripple gateway to allow for direct conversion 3) dash has a nice chart but is off highs ( especially in bitcoin terms) 4) dash has several catalyst (alt36 and evolution) 5) and Nice story ( only governance coin)

Steem let's put steem in place to capture some ripple fall out

Steem is mostly on same exchanges but we need a steem ripple gateway. The chart looks nice, it's off its highs (price as well as cap). New catalysts is rewards change, communities and rewards sharing. Finally what better long term story than social platform.

let's get that ripple gateway in place pronto!

** this is not investment advice. Who knows what will happen. This is more a call to action for steemians. I do hold dash and steem.

Good points in this post. Good to see I'm not the only one who thinks like this. There's a lot of exchanges out there. I found that coinmarketcap.com gives quite a decent overview. I really advice people to take a look at: https://www.coincheckup.com I don't know any other site that gives such good inisghts in the team, the product, advisors, community, the business and the business model, etc. On: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/Ripple#analysis To check Ripple Detailed report

If you had only 100 dollars right now to invest in crypto, would you spread it out?

My two cents. I don't want to get into investment advice but i think some percentage of the ripple money will go to all three. Maybe some @ender didn't even consider. Lots of coins out there.

I concur. It's hard to know which one will be popular but it's so fun to watch and see which looks like it's attracting the most money.
