The 73-year-old pop icon Olivia Newton-John has passed away.
One of the greatest pop performers of the 1970s and the early 1980s, Olivia Newton-John, has passed away at age 73. According to a statement made by her husband John Easterling on her official Facebook page, she passed away on Monday at her property in southern California. Part of the statement states, "Olivia has been a symbol of successes and hope for over 30 years sharing her struggle with breast cancer."
Newton-John portrayed Sandy Olson, a virtuous girl in the 1978 musical film Grease, who falls in love with a bad guy, played by John Travolta, who had previously played the part on Broadway. He worked hard to get Newton-John to star with him in his first picture.
