The Instagram Profile "Rio de Janeiro Sem Barulho" was created to highlight the noise disturbance in the city. A friend of mine from Noruega told me once that Rio de Janeiro is a city with one of the highest levels of "noise per capita" in the world. It's too much noise from bars and open air events. The local authorities do not mind about it, Rio is economically failed and bars are the only solution they've found to keep the city going. The high cost is hidden, in terms of public health, locals are currently very affected, not being able to sleep or concentrate on work and study.
Our page has grown quite fast recently, now we have key partnerships with many activism groups in the city. Visibility is improving each day.
