Coconut Riddle

You have two coconuts and you want to know from which floor of a building (100 storeys) a coconut breaks. You have 1.40 dollars and the lift costs a dime (10 cents) for each ride upwards. The ride down is free.

How can you throw coconuts down so that you know the lowest floor where the coconuts break?

You start on floor one. The coconuts break at the same height and do not break earlier if they fall more often.
