Rickys photo challenge - Week 7 - Weather
Ricky is looking for our most artistic photographs of weather. Difficult choice. I have weather, and I have artistic, but precipitation and cameras are a tough match as far as getting the right lighting, shutter speed and finding that perfect moment of bliss. The competition: Rainbows-done. Stormy rain clouds- uh huh. Fog- check. Sunshine - yep. that leaves me with ice, snow and cold. I live in CO. I can do that.
crisp and cold
original image. a bit before 5pm, on my way home after work, i decided to stop off at a nearby lake. the sky was bright with a few clouds and that nip in the air that smells like a fresh snow will be seen before the morning. the lighting was perfect for a whole series of beautiful sunset photos on a frozen lake. if you look close, you can see the tiny animal tracks and the clouds reflecting on the ice. Temperature? about 20 degrees.

and the right side, different type of crop to include the sky.
i'd love to hear any feedback you might have. keep in mind that i took this photo with a 16 megapixel point and shoot camera. the grainy texture suits the scene, don't you think?
