📷 Grand Falls Arizona - Rickysphotochallenge Week 6 entry - Waterfalls
"Grand Falls is a natural waterfall system located 30 miles northeast of Flagstaff, Arizona in the Painted Desert on the Navajo Nation. At 185 feet tall, it is taller than Niagara Falls." Grand Falls is a beautiful land mark, the murky waters of the Little Colorado River carry the famous red rock soil of the south west all the way through the Grand Canyon, then over the falls and tributaries in the Sonoran Dessert.
These photos were taken by me with a Nikon d5200 on my trip through Arizona in January of this year. It turns out to be one of the best times visit due to high water volume from winter snow melt. This year in particular, the region had an unusually high amount of precipitation and the falls had a heavier flow.
This is my entry for @rickyjrx 6th photo contest,

The sound of the rushing water is amazingly loud but relaxing all the same.
walking back upstream, the water is spread thin.
getting down to the best spot is half the fun!
Boots are the best option for footwear. It takes a bit of effort to trudge through the muddy banks of the falls if you want to get the best view. The red mud will certainly ruin a pair of vans.
Turn around and you'll see the beautiful plains of the Navajo nation and a view of the San Francisco Peaks mountain range.
