The true happiness: Then you will get a great reward, and you will be the true children of God in heaven

When Christianity is preached to the Gentiles, many questions arise, the doctrine about the resurrection of the dead is totally rejected by the Greeks as the apostle Paul tells us when he dialogues with philosophers in Athens: "He also had a debate with some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers" Acts 17:18. The figure of Jesus is also discussed by the pagans and the Jews, if he was an angel, a prophet, a myth, or a personification of the divinity.
But beyond the superficial questions, the true and deep thought of Jesus is left aside. When Jesus begins with the teaching of the doctrine of the Kingdom of Heaven in the Sermon on the Mount, he does not speak to us of the most immediate thing for man, happiness, but of a reward. We have to follow Jesus for a reward, a prize, a spiritual salary that God gives us, this remuneration is not happiness, but beatitude: "Then you will get a great reward, and you will be the true children of God in heaven" Luke 6:35. The doctrine of the kingdom of God is not about the issues of the soul, but of the issues of the spirit.
For the Greeks the purpose of philosophy is to teach men to be happy, and to achieve this men must practice virtue, temperance, fortitude, justice, prudence. For the Greeks, the happy man is the virtuous man, and virtue is the middle term between the excess and the defect of an action.
For Jesus, on the other hand, the ethical approach is presented in another way, we live in the universe subject to ethical laws, the righteousness (Matthew 7:12) and the law of the sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7-8), and men achieve the eternal life must live the spiritual gifts, because the spiritual gifts are way (progressive thinking), truth (precision and accuracy), and life (John 14:6).
As a reward for living the spiritual gifts inherit from above we receive the true happiness, the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:21-13), and the likeness of God.
