GAME REVIEW 1 : "OVERWATCH"....

in #review7 years ago (edited)

Hello steemit friends, how's life going? In this opportunity I'm going to review the Game "Overwatch" from Blizzard. Since it was first announced two years ago, Overwatch has been successful in attracting so many people around the world, including me. With unique character designs, visual styles resembling Pixar animated films, as well as Blizzard's big name support, Overwatch looks really promising.
Actually I was skeptical of Overwatch for fear that the content presented is not worth the expensive price. Online FPS games without single player content like this I think is more fitting as a free-to-play game. But how about trying it yourself, is it worth the quality of the hype? Let's see below.

The Purpose of the game

Overwatch combines first person shooter with an objective game style commonly encountered in MOBA / ARTS genre games such as Dota 2. In Overwatch, your play objective is not to eradicate all enemies, but perform certain missions / objectives. Killing the enemy is just one way of reaching that mission and not a guarantee to win the game.

Basically the mission in Overwatch is only divided into two types, namely Attack and Defense, but there are variations with the needs of different tactics. For example, the Defense mission in the control point will be different from Defense's mission to protect the on-going payload. There is also a mission that requires both teams alike do Attack and fight over a control point in the middle of the arena.

The concept of the mission is simple, but it is complex because of the variety of folders and hero in it so much. Like Dota 2, its mission is only one type of destroying the Ancient, so success really depends on the understanding of hero, battlefield control, and player skill. The complexity in such simplicity makes Overwatch a potentially highly competitive game.
This competitive nuance is supported by a reward system that pampers players with high skills. The better you play, the more experience you can get. When level up, you will get Loot Box containing various cosmetic items. Collecting cosmetics in this multiplayer game is certainly very fun.

Not only Loot Box alone, Overwatch also has a highlights system that shows the best game in the game. All participants will watch the highlight broadcast as soon as the match is over, so getting "on TV" is a worthwhile pride. You will surely be encouraged to practice and play better.

Anyone could be a hero

Overwatch has a strong theme with heroic elements, and one thing we need to understand is that the definition of "heroes" for each person can vary. Heroes do not have to be good at punishing bad people with super powers. A doctor who treats the patient until healed, an inspiring artist, even a merchant who feeds his children, is also a hero.

Similarly in Overwatch, you do not have to be a sniper who is good at killing enemies to be heroes. There are 21 heroes you can choose, and each hero can contribute in his own way. Understanding the role of hero and designing good cooperation is paramount in Overwatch.

You want to eradicate the enemy from hidden places? Choose a sniper hero like Widowmaker or Hanzo. Prefers to advance in the enemy? Use offensive heroes like Soldier: 76 or Reaper. The composition of the team will not complete without the hero tanks and support in charge of counteracting the opponent's attack, therefore heroes like Reinhardt and Mercy can be popular even though they are not experts kill.

We are encouraged to form a balanced and varied team in Overwatch. Even this game will give advice / warning when we choose hero, so we know what role should be filled for optimal game. So if the screen has been displayed "no tank heroes" but no one wants to choose the hero tank, do not be surprised if your team loses tragically.

First class Quality

Blizzard does not mess around in making Overwatch a very polished game. You can see from the stunning visual qualities, intuitive and highly responsive game controls, as well as cool and lively cosmetic designs for display. But do not stop there.

The best element in Overwatch that must be thumbs up is the quality of matchmaking in it. Unlike the next-door game where looking for matches can take up to an hour, my average matchmaking experience in Overwatch takes just a few dozen seconds. A thing that I think is amazing.
You also do not have to worry someone out in the middle of the game, because once there is a player out then the server will automatically replace it with other players instantly. We can get out in the match at will, not necessarily follow from the beginning. And since the mission in Overwatch is very simple, you will not be confused even if you just joined in the middle of the game.

If you're unlucky and just happen to find a rather long matchmaking time, you'll be put into skirmish mode whose contents are just empty arenas without objective. While waiting for mcatchmaking, you can experiment with heroes, or explore the arena to learn. Given the location of the healer item and sniping location can help you win your game!

Positive Community Encouragement

Overwatch is a really fun game. Above I say that Overwatch has the potential to be very competitive, but the main nuance that youf will feel when playing is that this game is made for fun. If you win it feels very satisfying, but if you lose it, go to the next match.

Communication features in Overwatch are styled in such a way that it encourages positive and mutually supportive communication. You'll find that the most-used quick chat is "Hello" and tells you how long the ultimate stroke cooldown is, since it's the two most accessible chats. With this fafyst-paced gameplay, typing for any trash talking seems complicated.
Similarly, when the game is over. You will be presented with a replay of cool highlights, as well as a screen containing the player stats with the greatest contribution. Then you can commend (praise) players who you think are good, including players from the opposing camp, with one click only. Overwatch invites us to be appreciative of others, and this must be imitated by all online games on earth.

The Conclusion

After reading the above reviews it seems my conclusion is predictable. Overwatch is proof that Blizzard still has not lost his game as a top game developer, and you must play it if you like FPS or MOBA...
Nevertheless I still feel that this game is a bit too expensive. The regular edition costs US $ 40 (about IDR543,000), but is available only in digital and customized form fodfur PCs. While the most common edition is Overwatch: Origins Edition is commonly sold in Indonesia for around IDR670.000. Spending money that much for multiplayer special games like this it feels a bit heavy too hell...

Great review.
My fist impression of this game was that it's too cartoon like, but the gameplay and story have soo much depth, it creates a unexpected balance.

You know well my bro
