The Gifted Season 2 Episode 12: 'hoMe' Review

in #review6 years ago

[Spoiler Alert!!! Beware!]

So far, this has been the most interesting episode this season. I'm not entirely sure why, but somehow, the tensions and conflict between characters was much more relatable. I found I actually cared. Or maybe it's the growing mystery of the music box.

Really, what is it??? Why does it call to persons with the Von Strucker blood, and what does it do to them? What did Lauren mean about not being herself while she protected her mother and uncle from Sentinel services? Is the box somehow placing the personalities of Andreas and Andrea into their descendants? Even Reed was not immune... the music from the box actually caused him to manifest his abilities. And it doesn't end there. Apparently, it had caused him to become much more violent as a kid before his father took it away. But if Otis Strucker had known the capabilities of the box, why hadn't he just destroyed it? Why pass it onto his assistant instead? Did he think the mysteries could somehow help them understand their family's unique x-gene?

Also, the conflict between characters reached a peak when John and Erg got into a fight over the Morlocks place in the fight and over Clarice, while still in shock over the supposed death of Evangeline. Lorna is completely disillusionized by the Inner Circle now (though I have absolutely no sympathy for her on that one) and is being completely trusted by the Underground once more. Except all the Underground leaders but Thunderbird and Eclipse are dead. Plus, Andy and Lauren are psychically fighting in their dreams! Whaaat?!!!

And what was that ending??? My heart is still thumping in my throat. With what's happening over the music box, will the show transform both Strucker twins into villains? I won't put it past them at all. The Frost sisters might just succeed, and Lauren... our sweet, caring Lauren... will be completely gone.

Meanwhile, the mystery of Reeva's and Benedict Ryan's plans deepens...

What did you think of the episode? Might the show be returning to its season 1 glory? Let me know in the comments!

I'm behind you on watching, but I also really really loved the episode! Blink is awesome! I think that either Ryan is a mutant or Reeva is using him to cause more hate towards mutants so they will be on her side.
