Black Lightning Season 2 Episode 10 Review

The Book of Rebellion Ends... Badly.

And now everything truly begins.

[Spoilers Ahead!]

Black Lightning returns with the third chapter of the Book of Rebellion, which follows Jen and Khalil after their escape from Cutter. So much has happened in this book it's difficult to believe only a couple of days has gone past since they ran!

Khalil finally take Jen to his secret 'apartment' -- an abandoned train car and they are safe. Except, of course, that the rest of the Pierces are still out looking for them. When Lin reveals that Khalil's dad mentioned something about his son having a place to stay away from Tobias, they quickly narrow it down to the area and split up to find them. While Jen and Khalil do manage to evade being found out, the sound of Lin's broken voice breaks Jen and she reveals to Khalil that she doesn't want them to be on the run forever, and doesn't want their first time to be in a run down, abandoned train (sexual tensions were pretty high at that point!). In response, Khalil decides the only way to keep Jen safe was to take her home and away from him.

When the Pierces return and find Jen at home, they are super thrilled. Khalil just wants to do the right thing from here on out. Plus he's figured it out... Jeff is Black Lightning and Anissa is Thunder and is truly repentant for his misdeeds. So when Jeff suggests he turns hinself in to the Feds, he goes along despite Jen's fearful reservations, and Henderson sets everything up.

Meanwhile Tobias is working on cracking through the last firewalls of the ASA briefcase with his new best friend, Todd who is just happy to be putting his skills to good use (and getting paid handsomely for it) no matter how illegal it is. Soon, the cryptography genius successfully hacks through and Tobias gets the final info on the ASA's meta experiments. There are 4 metas hidden deep in the clinic. Four metas with massively destructive abilities... And they can alk be controlled.
Now, according to him, it all begins.

But first, some things got to end.
Todd also begins to double as Tobias' Personal Assistant, and when Cutter calls in with news of her failure, he's the one that gets it. Then Tobias gets the info that he's making a deal with the feds to snitch on him and sends the knife throwing meta to stop him. This time, she does succeed, killing over a dozen SWAT agents in the process. And, as per Tobias' demand, she brings him in alive, only for Tobias to reach into his back and rip out his spinal implant, then order him dumped in front of the church. And with that, Painkiller is no more.
