Review: SiS Hydro Tablets

Hi guys, its been awhile i didnt write post about product review. Today, I am going to review a sports nutrition SiS Hydro tablets (electrolyte tablets).

I bought this product online via Shopee, Malaysia No.1 shopping webstore. This product was a good bargain at Rm39.90 (roughly around USD 10). Due to the seller is in Sabah, I chose to pick up the item myself.

The seller sold a variety of brand such as High 5, Nestle Power Bar, Salt stick and other, but I bought this brand since I had never tried before. I contacted the seller via Whatsapp messenger, and she said I can meet her up in town to pick up the goods.

This was a cola flavoured drink with 75mg of caffein. One tube consisted of 20 concentrated electrolyte tablets. As you can see, I was made in EU and the contents was quite similar to other brands of electrolyte tablets. The only different was the caffein content was quite high, which I can only took maximum of 4 tablets a day. It also contained good amount of calcium, magnesium and most importantly potassium (65mg).

I let 1 tablet to dissolve in 500ml of water for my 10km run this evening. The taste was as stated, cola flavour but the after taste was sour and salty due to the sodium and caffein. I guessed the sour taste came from the acidic content of caffein.

After my 1 hour plus of runningx I dtill got some energy left and I didnt feel as thirsty as before, due to high in sodium that it retain water in my body, or else all my body fluid will be evaporated very fast. So, in conclusion, this was a good product for endurance athletes but not recommended for casual runners who ran less than 1 hour per session due to high sodium content. Highly recommended brand as substitute for other brands that were available in the market.
