Relentless:Chapter 1-Don't Think

in #review7 years ago

Hi guys, let me share my thought after reading the first chapter from a legendary trainer Tim Grover, who trained Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Dwayne Wade. He shared his teaxhing on how to be from good to great, then to unstoppable.

The reason I bought this book was I had already reached the peak of my results in long distance running and I wanted to improve more, so when I was looking for review on sports psychology, this was one of the top rated book.

In the first chapter, he shared about the mindset of "Don't Think". What he really meaned was when we faced adversity especially during the big game, your important races, we had a lot of negativity in our head, which were " what happen if I lose?, what happen if I miss the shot?, or what happen I someone overtake me? These are the mind game that was very common to athletes because they overthink and without realizing that it actually putting the pressure into themselves.

The author thought his athletics to stop thinking, and act accordingly to their instinct, because if we think, they will be consequence of losing. Furthermore, being relentless is to do whatever it takes for the end result, and doesn't care of whatever people might think about you because end result the is the key. If we are thinking too much of what other people might think about our actions, then we cannot be rentless.
