A review and summary of Usain Bolt's Autobiography-Faster Than Lightning Chapter 5 (Living Fast).

After Usain Bolt won the World Youth Athletics Championship in 200m, he became the spotlight of the entire world. His face was all over the place from TV broadcast, newspaper and all the media.

After arriving his hometown, motorcade waited for him and paraded all the way around the city. Kids in his school who never greeted him suddenly say "Hi" to him, teachers treated him not as tough as before. He felt so awkward. His results in school were at the danger zone which the principal said to his father that if he failed his year end test, the school would revoked the scholarship. During that time he was 16 years old. He managed to passed the borderline with the help of a tutor.

He started to build up his confidence to hang out with girls after winning the championship. But he always misbehaved and make funny stuffs with girls. He even admitted tried "ganja" with the soccer but he didnt like it.

He was invited to Monte Carlo to receive the IAAF Rising Star award. The funny part was Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association JAAA sent him alone to receive the accolade. After Monte Carlo, he missed his connecting flight from London to Kingston. He panicked, cried and afraid he will lost in London forever🤣. The Airport staff calmed him down and said he can catch his flight to Jamaica the next day. The airport management arranged a hotel for him and he relieved immediately. He didnt sleep the whole night afraid of missing the flight again so he stayed awake and waited for his flight.

During that year top universities from America approached him for sports scholarship deal. His high school coach encouraged him to take the deal because America had the best track and field facilities in the world. Usain rejected those offers as he said that he is a "Momma Boy" that didn't want to pack his bag and left his parents behind. He said that he was not comfortable leaving Jamaica.

In 2003, he enrolled in Kingston High Performance Center, which IAAF and JAAA hired full time coaches to train promising athletics. According to Usain, after enrolling, he partied all night long because mum and dad were not around in Kingston, they were at the village. He didn't drink much but like to dance. He liked the naughty "Whining" move, which he holded a girl from behind and dance closely.

His professional career started in this center with a new head coach Fitz Coleman , but he didn't like his programme which was too tough for him. He kept complaining about changing a new coach but no one would listen even his parents. Then he saw a star coach that everyone was talling about, he pointed at him and said I want to follow your training programme (with a cocky gesture), the coach looked up and down of Usain and walked off. He is the legendary Glen Mills.
