The Greatest Showman. Review

The Greatest Showman is that film that, driven by a movement of musical films, tells us the story of Phineas Taylor Barnum and how he founded the Barnum's American Museum, where a Theater operated, exhibiting rarities and other kinds of works never seen before in a Museum for that time. Beyond being a musical composed of numerous choreographies full of rhythm and colors, this work starring Hugh Jackaman perseveres thanks to the message promoted through the presentation of a deeply human drama that certainly remains today.

The many hypnotic dialogues plus a respectable cast form a film where the message is clearly received. A message that speaks to us of friendship, of equality, of courage, of the courage that allows us to dare to do the impossible, to demonstrate that there are not differences between us and to accept ourselves as we are.

As the film expresses it, P.T Barnum was a man born of poverty, being him and his parents abused by those who are located in higher standards. Despite the discredit received our main character did not stop to getting dreams related to the show. From experiences and events where after the death of his father, Barnum achieved independence and self-esteem, he managed to undertake a project founding a theater where his main attraction would be to present acts whose performers would be somewhat peculiar characters like General Tom Thumb, "The lowest general in the world" or the fattest woman in the world, the tallest man in the world or even something as close as a werewolf. Peculiar characters that Barnum gathered as a cast justifying that his presence should also be notorious in this world and therefore should not be attached to confinement and exclusion. Characters that Barnum distinguished as "Fantastic".

We are witnesses of the failures and successes of Barnum in the world of entertainment and how he manages to be submerged through a system of wealth and luxury. Despite being a man of basic principles and clear goals we witness the impersistent search for success by wanting to give his family a life without problems different from his childhood. A search that despite being concluded, leads our protagonist to explore new oddities and entertainment activities. Justifying that he wants to bring realities to his theater, strange and fascinating things. Giving the viewer a memorable experience.

Barnum and his team manage to be part of a movement of inspiration, struggle and improvement. Where the walls are destroyed and inequalities are accepted, where the tolerance abounds. The Greatest Showman is a visual spectacle where it is easy to feel grateful for the sight. A film that fills us with emotion and optimism that throughout the film invades us and from which it is impossible to finish seeing it without singing one of its songs.
