Game review: Tekken 7
With changes that add to the already familiar and beloved gameplay and additional additions that only help the game, TEKKEN 7 is establishing itself as a top candidate for the 2017 fighting game.
Tekken 7 is one of those games that make you appreciate the history of this series of games in addition to the fact that the innovations of the game help it stand out among the many great games this year.
The last Tekken game I played seriously was Tekken 6, which was released on PlayStation 3. The game had its technical problems, with an extremely long load time, but I did not know a single person who could tell me seriously that he did not enjoy it. For casual gamers or people who do not care about fighting games, the option to choose a variety of characters when their combo is not as complicated as in the King of Fighters series, for example, while serious players had a very clear ranking system between the characters and the possibility to actually dive into the game's meta and get away from the combo The most successful with the highest damage. Tekken 7 promised gamers the ultimate Tekken experience, and for the first time in the series, it also comes to the computer that is the version I tested.
So I took my remote, and together with my favorite players, Lee and Jin went out to check out what the game added or changed and did we really look at the best Tekken game ever released?
The Iron Boxing Tournament is underway
On paper, this is the same game we all know and love: Tekken 7 is a fighting game where you choose the warrior or warrior you love and give combos, protect and evade the way to win the battle. But to say that about the game will do him wrong because the game has added and changed things in a way that makes this game feel like the most complete game in the series. But before I start talking about the changes, I want to bring up mechanics that has not changed and that's something I did not like to see especially after two years of developing the game: like the previous game, there is no situation here that helps you learn all the complicated and complex combos in this game. If you are a player who has been playing the game since Tekken 3, then I'm sure you'll have less of a mind because you already know most of the game combo and all the little ones, but if you're new to the game and you want to be better, Then you will have a lot of work and a lot of repetitions of the list of the list of Move character with whom you play to understand all the comboes and small subtleties such as how quick side step the character does, or Comboim expose you to punishment. But if you just want to get in and push buttons with friends without being professional players, this game is still fun and normal - the gameplay is smooth and flowing as always, the characters are completely fun and different from each other and the new additions to the game like Lucky Chloe or Akuma Fighter, I'll touch it soon) really great and I had fun playing with them too.
The new game gives us a special mode called The Mishima Saga and introduces us to the very spoiled family of Heihachi Mishima who tries to kill herself whenever possible. This model is relatively short and a lot less cinematic than the story of Injustice 2 for example, but it is very fun and some of the transition segments were really nice. In addition, Akuma plays an integral part in the story that I did not see at all coming and was great. What's more, I guess that's why we do not have the really nice fans and the routine breakers from the previous games because of this game like the Beat-em-up campaign from the previous game and it was a great break from a routine game. Something Tekken 7 has done is to restore the option of changing clothing and adding special features to your favorite characters, increasing the amount of clothes in the game and giving almost completely free hand in shaping the character as you see fit so that there is a good chance It will take a long time for you to see someone who looks exactly like you when you play online.
The matchmaking and the net code have improved greatly from the previous game, and I have not had a lot of cases when I have problems connecting to other players, even players who are not in my area (some of the battles are almost smooth with a player from America), but I did Disconnecting here and there then it is worth making corrections and adjustments so that it will turn from good to excellent. In addition, before you start the battle the game gives you practice with your character so that it is a terrific way to wait while the game takes care of finding you a player. I was also happy to see that there were players on the computer and that my fears about the desolate Tekken community were disrupted after a few hours of play.
Wait a minute, Tekken? On the computer?
So yes, for the first time ever in the popular fighting game series, the game also comes out on the PC version. And while our previous entitlements were listed as bad enough to say the least, this time I have no complaints. On the contrary - this is an excellent port that far exceeds the versions of consoles (at least compared to the original PlayStation 4 and Xbox One). The game retains 1080p all the time. My computer with the 780M card, which is relatively weak compared to today's cards, manages to maintain 60 frames per second all the time without the problems of special falls here and there. The game on the computer gives quite a few options of graphics changes in favor of players with weak computers, including the option to dynamic resolution that allows the game to change the resolution according to the performance of the computer, so that the performance of the game will remain at 60 frames per second without disturbing the player to play. The game can be played with a remote control or keyboard and mouse when I chose my arcade sign as someone who is used to playing this way.
So what version should I buy
I talked mainly about the PC port and I have to add a few more sentences to the other versions of the game because while I was playing the PC version of the game, it is also available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In addition to Tekken 7, the version of the Xbox One also gives the players the previous game in the series through the feature of backward compatibility at no additional cost, which is nice, just consider the visual and performance of some of the Cutscenes and load times. The PC version gives nothing but the fact that it's the best graphics and performance version especially if you have a powerful gaming computer. The version of the PlayStation 4 gives the option to track all the tracks from all the previous games, a special mode for the PlayStation VR. Another important thing to note is that most of the online competition is located on the PlayStation 4, so if you have a PC or PlayStation 4 and you want to enter tournaments Competitive with the best players in the world you will find it more about the Sony than on the computer.
