Review Album of The Day: 3 Doors Down – The Greatest Hits

in #review7 years ago (edited)

After a career of more than a decade and six albums, it seems that the rock group from Escatawpa, Mississippi, USA, 3 Doors Down decided to release an album that garnered their best hits on a The Greatest Hits album. Collecting as many as nine old songs and three new songs, can this album summarize their studio album career starting from the year 2000?

With the capital of 18 albums, and then just loading half of them as part of greatest hits could raise the question of comprehensive greatest hits album. But get rid of the doubt first, because 3 Doors Down presents nine singles that are guaranteed to satisfy their fans or music lovers who love their singles hits.

The album is filled by many of the band's leading and popular singers consisting of Brad Arnold, Todd Harrell, Chris Henderson, Greg Upchurch and Chet Roberts. Opened with Kryptonie (who does not know this song, especially by modern rock lovers), and then followed by hits such as When I'm Gone, It's Not My Time, Be Like That to Duck and Run.

The power of 3 Doors Down not only lies in Brad Arnold's distinctive vocals, but also their musical arrangements that rely on guitar distortions but are actually in a thick pop corridor with the pursuit of a hook that is expected to nudge in the ear. Indeed, every song sounds "similar" to one another, but still presents a different dynamic of course.

By presenting 3 new songs, of course 3 Doors Down want to make these songs as selling point from this album. The newly released main single for this album is One Light which can be obtained for free on their official website. With a thick rock spirit, One Light restores the longing for rock music gahar.

Meanwhile There's A Life brings a dreamy gloomy with a strong hook in the chorus. The combination of alternative and modern rock makes this semi ballad song so steal the attention. The album was closed by Goodbyes, who attended as a full ballad. Mengalun and harmonious, reminiscent of Be Like That.

Although closed by a track titled Goodbyes, do not necessarily think 3 Doors Down will close the book and will not work anymore, because they say they are preparing new material for their sixth album.

In the next three years, 3 Doors will be exactly twenty years old. And with a career history in the music industry for more than a decade, 3 Doors Down is indeed worthy of releasing an album that marks their career journey. Although their careers do not really reach the peak of fame after their debut album, The Better Life.

However, the praiseworthy of them is consistency in music and regularly released albums so they can be mentioned apart from the curse of one hit wonder, because it is still able to attract the attention of music lovers. And with The Greatest Hits they do not seem to be stopping here. We can wait for their next work.
