Although prepared to receive my dose of barbaque in the throat without going through the swallowing box, I can only be in such disgust and excitement at the end of this film that it will be complicated for me to put it back .. In one direction as in the other.

Justine is a girl at the edge of femininity, of maturity that we will say, in whom the family cell seems rigid, with vegetarianism as standard bearer. When it is time for our heroine to leave the nest and join the veterinary transgenerational school, it is a jumble of life troubles that fall on him under the eye of an elder sister in the second year of studies . From a hazing that totally breaks the childish spirit to catapult it into an adult "liberty", Justine is going to seize a body that he did not know until then, a body that enjoys, orgasmic, subject to instincts instinctive revealed Perhaps the most singular, the rediscovery of oral destruction in pole position ... Let us try to silence the rest.

Above all, Grave is a look at man in the human sense, it is a look at the bestiality which animates him, whether in love, in the flesh, or in aggressiveness, of freedom which Leads a subject to detach from the parental model to enter into a conflict of a new type. Justine is just in there; For wanting to be able to repress, family repression balanced with nettles to give place to identity. It is this last element that will be part of the goal of the film; Justine's identity. If this one turns out to take its new nature as a means of understanding the enigma of its psyche, the elder sister finds itself in full regression, totally escaping humanity in order to approach the animal. At the intersection of the two curves, we find Adrien, Justine's homosexual comrade,

Grave is there to plunge the spectator into a deep uneasiness, one realizes as soon as the fantastic and active celebration appears, all surrounded by a look focused on the body and the horror of a singular skin. And yet, if it disturbs, the will to write this film is hardly provocative; We will not test your nauseating resistance without presenting you with a flop of more juicy symbolisms as well as a sometimes sublime achievement, playing with a gore mixed with art. The atmosphere is sulphurous, oppressive on several occasions, she seizes organ points and a musicality to panic the pulsations. The work of lights and colors is also to be noted in this painting, which, although charged, should not make us regurgitate anything but words, the feeling of having passed the strange moment. It's great, certainly, but strange.
