Acidyo Reviews Games - Battlerite

in #review7 years ago (edited)

Hey everyone!

This new game arrived on Steam, after hearing about it from a few friends and @steeminator3000 constantly telling me to check it out I finally folded, took a small break from the usual CS:GO and tried it out. Haven't been playing it too much yet, a couple hours only but wanted to chime in what I think about it so far.

This is the entry screen showing some recent news from the game developers. As you can already tell, microtransactions are in this game as well as they are becoming really popular lately. Hopefully blockchain technology will make them a lot more beneficial to both developers and players in the future. There are also loot boxes in this game which have raised some controversy lately in games such as CS:GO and the new Star Wars due to the gambling nature it provokes in players. Of course these are all only visible changes, meaning they don't affect your games such as making it a Pay2Win game.

Here in this screenshot you can see the different matches you can queue up to. First one being the casual one which is meant to let you learn to play your champion with another player versus other players. I have so far only been playing this one ranged champion which you will be able to see some gameplay footage in the video down below, so I already tried the competetive mode a bit more with it called "League". Private is meant for playing versus bots which is usually meant for brand new champions you are playing and want to figure out how they work in combat without embarrassing yourself versus other players.

Battlegrounds is new so I haven't been able to try it out yet, but it does sound really fun!

Here is a collection of all current Champions, as you can see some cost ingame currency to unlock, which I guess can also be purchased and not just earned through playing. They have a wide variety of Champions already and as you can see from the News screen there are new ones popping up constantly, reminds me a little bit of League of Legends.
There are Melee Champions, Ranged, Tanks and Healers. All with different abilities and playstyles. This means to be able to master a Champion well you will have to play them for quite some time and knowing one champion well doesn't mean that it will be enough. If other players in competetive gaming know your Champion they will have an advantage knowing your playstyle thus you should also get to play most Champions if you want to focus in that front.

They also have mounts in this game that you ride in the beginning of the battle, these have also different "skins" that you can purchase either through ingame coins you earn or purchase.

Here is a video of me playing it, talking a little bit about what it is about and what is happening in the Casual game. Apologize for the low voice volume, will try and fix it or get a better mic for the upcoming Reviews!

I actually like this game. Basically league without the laning, all teamfight. Play this game, is awesome! Reminds of WoW PVP but with top down camera!

I feel like the same could be said of HoTS but it just ended up being bland compared to LoL after a few dozen games. Battlerite has the same problem imo. For better or worse LoL has managed to keep things fresh for a decade and I think the 1-on-1 or 2-on-2 laning element is a big part of that.

League has ARAM for exactly that purpose (all team-fight, no laning) and it is fun to kill time or goof off but its not quite like the real game.

I play Dota, ever since the Warcraft mod way back in the day and now Dota 2.

I've also played Battlerite, LoL, Smite, and many other mobas. However I always go back to Dota because it's my home and it's what I enjoy the most. There is so much variability in all games and the laning phases are very dynamic then any other moba I've played.

Anyway, just thought I'd share :)

Yeah agree DOTA is great and has a similar/greater level of depth to LoL

I also saw this game pop up on steam, and it pulled me in. but seeing as how Dota 2 has me stuck, I thought it best to really learn and get good on Dota 2 The struggle is real on there, hahaha.

i agree with u

i like computer games, video games and other games in childhood and fond of to playing hours. now i buzy in practical life too much and unable to get a time gor such entertainment. this new game on steemit "Battlerite" seems to be interesting, i will try to play it when i got free time. If you have Steam on your PC you can download it from there or maybe even from their website directly: https://www.battlerite.com/

Alright.
Thanks for your response and guidlines. You are the best @acidyo
I will check it right away.

This looks like a game that tried to come out about 7 years ago when mobas were first becoming popular. I wonder if someone picked up and updated where those developers left off.

Might be, not familiar with its history. :)

wow excellent game, i really like your review about Battlerite and i really like it's gameplay as well, it's a fast action game and i love these games because they improve our reflexes, thanks for telling us about this game, i will try it soon, Stay awesome

I am not a game player, but looks like you are a master of these, get someone to develop a game based on Steem ? kind of competition to win.

That will add a lot of value to Steem.

This game looks cool, i have them moments where I switch from csgo to other games ever couple of weeks, the main reason like you said i play csgo is bc its not pay to win, I will probably try this one out , thanks for the review @acidyo

a fun brawler with short matches, ideal for those who don't wanna waste too much time stuck in games.
my only gripe is that the over the top flashy effects become a strain on the eyes, especially on dark maps.
