After so much posturing and bluffing, Google has agreed to pay Canadian news services in order to display their content.

This leaves Meta as the remaining standout.

Contrary to calls about government censorship, this has always been about forcing a revenue share between the content creators like news sites, and the aggregators who profited from showing it.

The news was never censored, as it was still available on the news out let sites.

This is similar to the way streaming services pay labels and artists.
