Awesome look back at this old classic. I played the arcade original so much as a boy, and was stoked beyond belief when it was finally supported in MAME!
I now have a remake on my Android tablet which I still fire up from time to time. The are some videos on YouTube, plus you can find out more info here:

That Android remake looks pretty good. I'll have to check that out when I get a chance...
I never played this game, but looking at the graphics I'm guessing it worked well as it looks similar to Luke's targeting computer in a New Hope.
It is an impressive port.
