Angelic Spirits - A Supernatural Series (PART ONE)

Hi steemians!

In my last supernatural post I talked about demons/shadow people and I thought to do the exact opposite of those and talk about angels and or “good spirits”

What is the basic term of the word ‘angel’?

According to Google an angel is:

“a spiritual being believed to act as an attendant, agent, or messenger of God, conventionally represented in human form with wings and a long robe.”

Now in Christian Angelology there are many types of angels which can be classified into 3 different categories called “Spheres”.

In this post i will only be talking about Sphere 1 but i will post about Sphere 2 & 3 later on so keep an eye out for that!

Sphere 1:

There are two angels that belong to this group which are Seraphim and Cherubim.

Seraphim:

If you translate the word Seraphim directly from Hebrew it means "the burning one"

They are said to have 3 pairs of wings; 1 pair to cover their eyes, another to cover their feet and the last pair they use in order to fly.

They also deemed to be the highest rank in the Christian Angelic Hierarchy and fifth out of ten in the Jewish Angelic Hierarchy.

Seraphim Angels are mentioned in a seminal passage from the Book of Isaiah (Isaiah 6:1-8) in which they fly around the throne of God crying 'holy, holy, holy'

Cherubim:

There is no clear indication of what the Cherubim look like.

In a traditional Jewish belief they suppose that cherubim had youthful, human features but in the Book of Ezekiel (Ezekiel 10:14) they are said to have four faces: one of a man, an ox, a lion, and an eagle but also have four conjoined wings with eyes, a lion's body, and the feet of oxen; and in the Western Christian tradition, cherubim are associated with being small, chubby, winged boys.

Cherubim are the angels that protect the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden but also the throne of God himself.
