I have done my best to try and work out how Steemit operates and how to utilise it well but there is one question: Resteems.
That is not a question so, How to get more resteems? I think that they are important for exposure and I see many come through my feed but I do not get many at all. I understand for some content, it is not very shareable but it gets me thinking.
What content is resteemable?
I wonder if it is like Facebook where people only share the things they think others will agree with, not just what they support. I always found on Facebook that the shares people would make are the type that are easy to accept by their friends, cat videos, funny memes etc, but only a very small percentage of people shared things that had substance.
I would post there some of my business articles and I would get many comments of support. In private messages. An article could get 2 likes and no comments but, 10 people would take the time to message me privately.
Open support is a difficult thing for many when it comes to anything that could be perceived as even slightly controversial. Even if they strongly agree with the view. It seems that not many will risk a dent to their reputation by taking a public stand. Well, unless that public stand is something they think everyone will agree upon.
The other thing is, that most of it need not even be controversial, perhaps it is just a little more serious or about self-improvement. In that case, only the words of famous people get shared, even if useless or dangerous.
By the way, I should add another question at this point: Why is there no resteem counter?
I would be interested in seeing what content is getting resteemed a lot and what is not. It would also be handy to know for myself and more precisely (easily) who is resteeming. It is quite difficult to find out, at least the way I have tried.
The reason I ask this is because some people post some quite excellent questions and insights about many things, including possible improvements to the system. The problem is, that no matter how glorious the idea, if no one from the upper end sees it, it is useless.
For my own content, I would prefer more exposure of course too (who wouldn't?), especially for the stuff that may help people improve themselves in some way. I do want to make gains in this world but a long time ago I decided it would be through helping how I can. It hasn't been a path full of fortune so far.
Generally, there is very little limit that people will pay to be entertained. They will drop a hundred on a game, thousand on a new phone, 10000 on a holiday, 100,000 on a new car but, if anyone gives them helpful information that they use to improve themselves and make their own gains, that should be done out of the goodness of the heart.
It is interesting I think. This is obviously not just about only my own content here. How easy is it to spend a hundred dollars on dinner, how hard to give a dollar in charity? But, this isn't charity, there is more than a good feeling received in return and the viewer gets to eat the meal and then decide how much to pay, if any, and their payment comes from the pool, not their pocket.
Resteeming doesn't even cost anything but can help good content greatly (I assume).
So I question, what content do people resteem, why do they resteem it and for those interested in curation rewards, why aren't they resteeming the hell out of what they upvote?
This is not a well formulated post and I think it sounds a bit 'complainy'. That is not my intention at all, I am just very curious how this works here. It has been six months and I still do not have much understanding in this area. I do not know who gets resteemed a lot so, any help is appreciated by anyone that has some ideas about this.

Clogs our feeds, clogs our feeds.. ¡Resteeming Clogs Our Feeds!
¿Wadda Hell? ¡What Tha Hell! I repeat!!
¿Clogs our feeds? Pfft! ¡Who cares!
We JUST MUST Resteem the hell out of everything we find of value and good quality No Matter What.
Clogs our feeds ¿Huh? If someone is not willing to resteem and share other people posts here, they all should be thinking to get the hell outta here. Seriously!! Because resteeming cost you NOTHING not even a single cent damnit!!
Unless you are an exceptional quality prolific author who already fills enough his/her own home feed with Authentic Jewels Of Knowledge, Insight, Enlightenment, Entertainment or anything else of Superlative Value ¡You Must Resteem! period.
Well, all this just assuming you actually can read at all. That you actually have been literated. That you recognize the alphabet and its meaning. And that you are actually willing to read to exercise reading and how does this would affect your way of thinking and appreciate the things that happen around you. For example, resteeming, reposting & sharing other ppl posts you KNOW must be seen and digested by everyone else. But then, Yeah! you first need and must know how to read and be willing to do it from top to bottom without excuses, simply to know and be sure with what the hell you are going to clog your precious & exclusive damn feed.
I have also seen examples of where people repost too much and this clogs our feeds. Somewhere in the middle may be helpful where people resteem what they value most but not just resteem everything just for rewards.
Yes. I wrote a few months ago about a resteem filter. I don't want to resteem too much myself either but there must be a happy medium. I don't worry about curation though.
People resteem what they find interesting the same way they share a post on Facebook. My question is, is there any financial benefit to resteeming a post?
There is benefit if you upvoted it too and then it becomes popular
So you should resteem it before it becomes popular rather than after correct??
Thanks for sharing this! I just upvoted you
Wonderful information.. Thanks for sharing. Resteemed for others to see and am expecting my post from you
