Brunch: Houston

Upon arrival at one of my favourite cities, for its weather, customs and amazing restaurants, I get the biggest smile as I deplane and feel the humidity of the city. I went to Houston on Super Bowl weekend to visit one of my best friends for the super bowl. I don’t watch sports so I wasn’t really there for the super bowl, haha. I was truly there for the weather and one of my best friends and duh... the FOOD!

Show Me The Brunch Spots!
Houston might not be most peoples favorite city to live in or visit, simply because of the weather there… it’s very humid, very tropical weather in my opinion. Houston might not be a big city with tons of nightlife, but maybe that is another reason why I like it so much. I love waking up in the morning and running down to a nice café or brunch local spot, something I wish I did at home more often.
La Madeleine
What a beautiful name… maybe named after the most famous Roman Catholic Church in Paris. La Madeleine is a Country French Bakery & Café, which makes sense why they have 25 locations scattered throughout Houston. As I open the door to La Madeleine, I see the cute country cottage décor and feel of the interior, you have small square tables, fit to seat four and a cafeteria style bar where you place your order. I had not seen this style of food bar in a while.
I ordered an orange juice (loved it super fresh), water and delicious oatmeal topped with blueberries and strawberries. As I sat there and ate my breakfast I noticed that as cute and country that the restaurant was, everyone there seemed very business like. The females all dressed in office attire and the men in nice slacks and ties, maybe it had a lot to do with the fact I was in a financial center.
I wouldn’t truly recommend this as a place to have brunch, but the food was very good.
Tiny Boxwood
One of the most beautiful brunch locations I have ever been to. As you walk into the property, it is an open garden with a plant and flower shop facing the tables outside. All of the tables seem to be made of beautiful black walnut wood. Each table adorned with a bouquet of white hydrangeas, I was in love. It was perfect for a low-key intimate wedding.
As every brunch, I must appropriately have a glass of fresh OJ. As I sit there, looking around pondering about my day… I just couldn’t get over how beautiful this place was. If you ever find your self in the Houston area, I highly recommend visiting Tiny Boxwood!
For my morning picker upper I have a beautiful and delicious Chai Tea. Looking down at it, I almost couldn’t drink it. I am silly I know but if anyone has ever been in love… well... this whole restaurant had me. One of the things I love about Chai Tea is that no matter where you go, you get a different taste of Chai. It is never the same brand. Some places carry a more natural Chai, others a heavy Spice Chai and the rest... just complete boxed premade Chai, which I passionately am disturbed by. Before I go on a rant about that… I will just finish my blog by saying:
