Steps to repair the phone that fell into the water
Losing the phone in the bathtub or toilet or accidentally pouring liquid may be the worst situations that happen to people at all, especially if it is new or contains important information. There are some effective ways you can try immediately to repair a fallen phone.
Keep in mind that you can always repair your electronics yourself only if you know what portlets are going to make the device work again. So, before it's too late, there are logical tips you may not have thought before working to repair the phone from water and make it work again naturally and save you the cost of buying a new phone.
- Close your phone.
After removing the phone from water or spilled liquid, the first thing is not to use the phone at all to prevent an electrical contact that may damage the internal motherboard, press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds until the phone is turned off and discharging the electrical charge. Then, remove the cover or cover if you are using any of them. Then, remove the battery if possible. Unfortunately, many phones - like the iPhone - do not have a removable battery and here things become more complicated, so be sure to turn off the phone at the very least. Then remove the SD Card and the SIM Card if you can. This is not a big problem, but if you have important data stored on it, you may be able to save all of this data by removing the card. On the whole, any other removable components remove them from the phone immediately.
2 - Dry the phone and remove moisture from it.
Do not try to shake the phone after it has fallen into the water. Instead, clear any visible water from the phone surface, its sides, and the ports for the speakers. If you can open or disassemble the phone, do so to gently dry the interior.
There are a bunch of different things you can do, but do not make it worse by using a hairdryer. This is also a common misconception because the hair dryer seems to some to be the perfect option to dry any liquid, but when used in such a position you cause the phone to warm up and in turn increase the damage to your phone. If you are using the fan or cold setting of the hair dryer, you should not be concerned about any damage.
Put the phone in a plastic bag and then fill it with rice to cover all sides of the phone. Close the bag and leave it for several days. The rice will absorb the rest of the moisture from the phone and help evaporate. This will take a long time, but it is definitely worth the wait.
If you want a more effective way of rice then you will have silica gel bags. If you do not know exactly what they are, they are the small bags that we see all the time in shoe boxes, clothes and even in some food packages. These bags work much better and faster than rice with respect to dehumidification of the phone, place it with your phone in a tightly closed bag and wait until moisture is absorbed. Note that the longer the time, the more dry your phone becomes. It takes a very long time to dry the water, so be prepared to wait 2 to 3 days before using the phone.
- Test the phone again
After a period of placing the phone amid rice or silica gel bags, remove the phone from the bag and re-assemble the components and press down the power button. If not, and you find that the phone is not working, consider buying a new phone. Since you have gone through such a difficult situation, consider buying a waterproof phone. It is a common technique these days among the leading mobile devices from Samsung, Huawei, SonyWon Plus, Google Pixel, etc. Also try searching for waterproof covers if you want better protection.
