Rencong (Acehnese: Rintjong) is a traditional weapon belonging to the Aceh Tribe. Rencong is a symbol of the identity, courage, and arrogance of the Aceh Tribe. According to historical records rencong began to be used at the time of Sultan Ali Mugayatsyah ruled the Kingdom of Aceh in 1514-1528. - Rincong Meupucok

With the change of form, the Acehnese continue to wear it unnoticed by the Dutch unless they are examined throughout their bodies.
