REMEME: one-click authorization! Say: no to passwords!

After some time of studying the abilities of REMME, I found out that this system can be the best solution in terms of security of personal/user data and access to funds. REMME is a Ukrainian project whose main goal is to offer people authentication in exchange for an aging system of logins and passwords. For what?

Today we live in a world in which the Internet has already become a part of life. We register in social networks, we search any information and we exchange information with other users. At the same time, our life also includes the phenomenon of the Internet of Things, which means that not only people but also things and various “smart products” are exchanged information. Any computer apps, like online-diaries, diet-diaries, household appliances such as teapots, refrigerators and much more. 

In many things, they introduce access to the Internet via Wi-Fi, maintenance of statistics or other information. And with this information, and even the actions of the cleverest product, not only the person himself can interact, but also intelligent products among themselves, as well as exchanging or accumulating information about his and your actions. It may sound scary, but in fact it happens for the producers of these products and services, which can take into account all the flaws in their products, correct them and do even better. 

To influence and interact with such systems, a person can only have access to them, which can usually be obtained by entering a PIN-code or password. And then you ask yourself the question: “Well, but how safe is it? Where are the guarantees that I’ll not be hacked?” And this question is the place to be, because many people, when registering on different sites, sometimes don’t want to waste time on inventing of new complicated password, and even more so for remembering it. 

From that, there are many cases where users entered very simple passwords and were repeatedly exposed to cyberattacks and hacking of personal pages. The fact that hacking of personal pages is very important, but what about such things as hacking of websites, accounts, company equipment, government agencies, medical data or security services? Here we return to REMME project. 

The main feature of this project is that a team of 20-25 people who developed REMME offers to completely eliminate the password system to protect data, and instead of passwords use the system of authentication developed by them, based on the blockchain Ethereum. That is, you no longer need to enter, remember, and accidentally forget a new complicate password.

Just press one button and the blockchain will determine their user and what he wants to gain access to the goods or personal information he has acquired. The goal of the project is to provide users and large companies with security from various types of cyberattacks by hackers, such as password breach, server breach, password reuse attack, etc. Even if the device through which authentication is lost, it can be done through another device, protecting access to information from hacking. 

Of course, this applies to those who own virtual money, that is, there is no need to be afraid of hacking bills or transactions. Initially, the system was created to protect the accounts of Bitcoin owners. In this regard, the company participated in the Microsoft Blockchain Intensive, where it was declared the winner, and also passed tests on the basis of Emercoin Blockchain and Bitcoin Blockchain, where he won first place, but according to the results showed not the best results. REMME project was improved, taking as a basis the masternodes Ethereum and Dash.

And yet speaking about the safety of the user's personal data, it is worth noting that while REMME is available, mainly, only to companies and try them out for all while there is no possibility. However, there is such a plus as the possibility of investing it. 

The project has already passed the stage of ICO, has its own internal currency REM, which give additional opportunities to users of the project. At the end of 2017, the contributions to the REMME project amounted to about twenty million dollars.
