REMME is a decentralized platform that uses its own distributed blockchain and innovative Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) protocol to help Internet users protect their private information without any user-generated passwords that turned to be unreliable.

REMME develops the platform as it has been promised. After the end of ICO that ended with the successful result – the hard cap was reached (19343.16050 ETH were collected during the REM token sale, according to the official website) – REMME released the big update of its software and SDK tools for the third-party developers. The detailed information about the changes is available on the official Medium blog.

The current REMME’s updates offered to third-party developers:

1. Atomic Swapping

REMME’s atomic swapping includes the feature of exchanging cryptocurrencies without the use of intermediates. Otherwise, a third party on an exchange service is necessary for a successful performance of an operation to stop one user from transferring a currency without getting another currency from the second user. The REMME’s atomic swaps will provide secured and decentralized REM coin transfers from the ETH network and REM Chain.

2. The upgrade of REST API

The improved REST API that has been released by the end of April 2018 provides the feature of enabling/disabling the endpoints and methods on an API server. This function improves the security’s level leaving the potential attackers no chance to execute any operations on nodes that have been disabled by a node administrator. It means that you as an administrator who can physically access the device with the masternode will be the only personal capable of configuring the node’s interface.

3. Updated methods of generation and registration for security certificates
  • you can have the generation of local p12 files on the device/machine where the REMME’s node has been installed. It may seem, at first, not very reliable when it comes to security’s integrity but definitely improves the user interface for the admin of an end node. REMME gives recommendations to apply this new feature only in a test mode for now;
  • another update concerns the certificate signing requests. From now the key part for REMME certificates are available for generation from the customer’s side. A user can store his private key securely on the customer’s machine without the necessity to transmit it anywhere.

4. Upgrade of REMME’s testnet

REMME introduced its updated bundle of REM Chain testnet. This testnet is required for a management of the network’s SSL/TLS certificates (for instance, signing). It is based on a few masternodes to perform any tasks for certificates. The updated bundle allows clients to have an automatic deployment performance in a few clicks. This bundle is available for free download and can be deployed locally straight from the Docker image.

5. PoET (the abbreviation for Proof of elapsed time) is now available for the REM Chain testnet

Previously, the REM Chain testnet was using the DevMode algorithm of consensus that was installed by default without a possibility to change it to something else. This algorithm helped to pick up the active node in a simple order, not allowing any faults. In its turn, the PoET algorithm of consensus is more contemporary and comprehensive because it allows selecting the active mode with more conditions.

6. REMME’s Research Laboratory

To improve the PKI protocol system, the testnet REM Chain and customize the Proof-of-Service, the platform launched the Research Laboratory for their own team of experienced and sophisticated scientists.

Additionally, to expand its loyal community of crypto professionals and enthusiasts, the REMME’s developers opened 2 more places for cryptocurrency exchanges which want to take part in the unique Pilot Program during 2018. Any crypto-supporting exchange services may benefit from a one-click 2FA authentication that significantly improves security.

Good luck to all. A new review is coming soon.
