RE: The Gospel of Joshua

in #reliquary6 years ago

Thank you @reliquary for sharing the 4th chapter of Joshua.

and Joshua said to them, “Cross over again to the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and each of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel,

so that this may be a sign among you; when your children ask later, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’

then you shall say to them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. So these stones shall become a memorial for Israel forever.”

Keeping of stones is a call to remembrance of the good deeds of God. It's so sad that many people find it easy to remember their hurting moments, probably ti earn the pity of men but most of the time cannot remember the faithfulness of God.God's message to Joshua and the Israelit in verses 5 to 7 above applies to us today. God does not want us to forget His benefits and goodness toward us. We have to make everything possible to consciously make known the deeds of God in our families, society, even for the unborn generation, lest they disbelieve the greatness and abilities of God.
